DAYS AND HOURS

  1. GRANT RD DAY CARE CENTER opens at 6:30 am and closes at 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  After 6:30 pm late charges will be assessed every 15 minutes as described on page 7.

  2. Our Center is open year round, but is closed on the following holidays: GRANT RD DAY CARE will be CLOSED each year from December 24 through January 1.  NO FEES will be due for the week that the Center is CLOSED.

DELIVERY AND PICKUP OF A CHILD

  1. Delivery - All children MUST be brought into the Center by a parent and taken to an authorized personnel.

  2. Pick-Up

    a. For the safety of all our children, it is our policy that NO CHILD is to be taken from the Center by anyone other than the child's parents UNLESS advance arrangements have been made in writing with the Center.  That person MUST show and ID and leave his/her name and address with the Center's office.

    b. No child will be sent out of the building to you.  You MUST come in the building in order for us to release your child.

  3. Sign In and Sign Out

    a. It is our policy that your child MUST be signed IN with the time of ARRIVAL and signed OUT at the time of DEPARTURE along with the PARENT'S SIGNATURE, or the signature of the person picking the child up.  PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD SIGN FOR YOU.

    b. School children arriving on the school bus or that we are picking up only, will obviously not be signed in, but PLEASE sign the OUT when you come to pick them up from the Center.

TIME OF PAYMENT

  1. Fees are to be paid in ADVANCE ON MONDAY OF EACH WEEK.  After Monday 6:30 pm there will be a $20.00 LATE CHARGE, on Wednesday there will be no DISCOUNT and a $40.00 LATE CHARGE,  Thursday $60.00, Friday $80.00.

  2. THREE DAYS of care constitutes a FULL WEEK and a FULL WEEKS TUITION MUST BE PAID.  Any care less than three days will be computed on a daily basis.  If FULL TUITION is paid and the child is at the Center less than three days, credit will be given on the next weeks care.

  3. All fees are computed on a Monday through Friday basis of each individual week.

  4. REGISTRATION FEE is NON REFUNDABLE.  It is renewable every September 1st.

  5. SCHOOL SUPPLY FEE is due every September 1.

  6. If a child is absent for TWO WEEKS without notification, he will be dropped from the roll and will lose his place on the roll. A $35.00 RETAINER FEE will hold your child's place on the roll.

  7. There is a $25.00 SERVICE CHARGE on all returned checks, plus any bank charges.  After three returned checks, you will be asked to pay by either CASH or MONEY ORDER.

  8. A 10% DISCOUNT is given on the second child's regular weekly rate and an additional 5% DISCOUNT is offered to those who want to pay for a MONTH  of child care in ADVANCE on the 1st of the month.  This must be paid on time for the discounts to be given.

TELEPHONE NUMBERS

  1. It is imperative that you notify the Center if your telephone number at work changes or if you change jobs.  This is our ONLY means of contacting you if your child becomes ill or gets injured. It's a good idea to add cell numbers and pager number to your child's records.

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Medical Examination & Immunizations

    a. Upon admission, each preschool child must have the HEALTH EXAM  report form provided by the Center dated and signed by a licensed physician showing the:

    • DATE OF EXAM

    • DATE OF: HIB, DPT, MMR, HEP, POLIO SERIES

    • DATE OF: TB SKIN TEST AND RESULTS

    • DATE OF: VARCILLA (CHICKEN POX)

    This is also required of Drop-in children.  School age children must have a copy of their immunizations on file at the Center.

    b.  If a child can not have the required shots and skin test, a signed affidavit from the child's physician will be needed.

    c.  ALL PRESCHOOL children are required to have a HEALTH EXAM before entering a child care center.

  2. MEDICINE:  You may arrange to have your child given any medicine he/she may require during the day by bringing the medicine to the Center's kitchen and filling out a MEDICINE FORM.  No medicine will be given unless the form is SIGNED by the child's parent.  The MEDICINE FORM is designed to accommodate giving medicine for one week at a time.  Each week a new FORM must be filled out and signed.  Medicine is given at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm ONLY.

  3. INJURIES:  If your child is injured at the Center, the physician you indicated on the Registration Form will be called.  In the event that he is not available, the Center will contact another physician.

  4. Federal Law requires that Preschool children 4 years old have a hearing and vision evaluation on their 4 year check up.  Proof of the screening  must be in the child's file.

NON-ADMISSION AND REMOVAL OF SICK CHILDREN

  1. Any child appearing to be ill WILL NOT be admitted.

  2. Removal of a Sick Child

    a.  If a child becomes ill at the Center, the parent will be notified that the child needs to be picked up.  If the parent can not be reached, then the person indicated on the enroll form for emergency pick-up will be called.

RE-ADMISSION OF A CHILD

  1. If a child has had a communicable disease, re-admission will be as per instructions on the chart posted on the Center's bulletin board.

  2. When a child returns to the Center after being out ill, he must be able to participate in the daily activities along with his classmates, even outside activities. Grant Rd Day Care has never practiced taking the children out in adverse weather conditions.

  3. If a child has or had a broken limb or some other disabling illness, a written statement from a licensed physician will be required upon re-admission as to the child's limitations.

DISCIPLINE

  1. Discipline and order must be maintained in a Day Care Center.  If a child does not cooperate during a certain activity, these measures will be taken to try and achieve his or her cooperation:

    a.  Sit him away from the activity for a short period of time with no participation in the current activity.

    b.  If the problem continues, the classroom teacher will bring the child to the office for a conference with Mr. or Mrs. Netterville.

    c.  If no cooperation has been achieved by the above, then a conference with the child's parents is set up to explain the problems and a plan of action is devised to try and correct the child's discipline problems.

  2. Discipline begins and ends at home, we can enforce only what you practice.  We DO NOT administer corporal punishment.

CLOTHING

  1. All clothing must be marked with the child's name.  Regulations call for ALL CHILDREN to wear shoes at all times.

  2. Extra clothing must be brought in a container which will be easily identified by the child.  Example: tote bag, back pack, diaper bag.

  3. NO COWBOY BOOTS PLEASE.  No cowboy boots may be worn to day care. (Exception: Rodeo Day).

  4. Girls who wear dresses to Day Care MUST wear shorts or tights under their dresses.

REST REQUIREMENTS

  1. All children are required to have a rest period until they enter public school or are in the Private Kindergarten Class.

  2. Each child may bring a SMALL sheet or receiving type blanket to cover with during rest time.  It should be clearly labeled with the child's name and taken home each Friday to be laundered.

PRESCHOOL

  1. All of our children will participate in Preschool activities from 8:30 am until 11:00 am daily August through May.  A Beka Preschool Curriculum is used in all preschool and Private Kindergarten classes.

  2. A SCHOOL SUPPLY FEE OF $25.00 for preschoolers and $20.00 for school age children will be collected September 1 of each year along with the Registration Fee.

PRIVATE KINDERGARTEN

          GRANT ROAD DAY CARE CENTER is a licensed Private School by the State of Texas, grades Kindergarten through 12.  Presently we are teaching Kindergarten classes using the A Beka Curriculum.  The teacher teaching the Kindergarten class is certified by the State of Texas with a teaching degree.  All children who are 4 ½ years old will be participating in our Kindergarten class.

SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN

  1. HELPFUL HINTS

a.  All new children riding our bus should have a note addressed to his teacher explaining where he is to go at the end of the day, even though you’ve already signed papers in the school office.  Kindergarten students should wear a note for at least the first week.

b.  If your child is to go home or elsewhere instead of the Day Care Center, you should send the child’s teacher a note of the change and PLEASE NOTIFY THE DAY CARE he’s not to be picked up that day.

c.  Please mark all of your child’s belonging with his name: coats, hats, games, school books, and especially lunch boxes.  Anything your child brings to the Center should be marked with some identifying marks.

TRANSPORTATION

  1. We do not have transportation to and from home from Preschool children. Transportation is furnished to and from public schools for school age children in our pick up area: Certain Cy-Fair and Tomball schools.

  2. Transportation permission for each student must be signed by a parent.

BREAKFAST POLICY

  1. Breakfast will be served to children UNDER 3 YEARS OLD ONLY from 7:00 am to 7:15 am ONLY!!!  From 7:15 am to 7:30 am is time for the children to finish eating and fro clean up.

  2. NO BREAKFAST FOODS may be brought into the Center.

  3. BREAKFAST WILL NOT be available to children 3 years and older.

LUNCH POLICIES

  1. Preschool and Private Kindergarten children will be provided lunch at NO CHARGE as long as they are full time students.

  2. School age children and children in ½ day programs MUST bring their lunch each day.  If the Center has to provide a child with lunch, the cost will be $4.00 per lunch.

  3. During SCHOOL BREAKS (teacher in service or other school holidays) ALL SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN (K-UP) MUST bring a SACK  LUNCH; drinks will be provided by the Center.

TOYS

  1. Friday is SHOW AND TELL DAY.  Toys should be marked with the Child’s name and no bigger then 6 inches by 9 inches and should be taken home at the end of the day.  If it won’t fit in their tote tray, it’s TOO BIG!!

  2. Children may bring BOOKS, PUZZLES, STUFFED ANIMALS, AND BOARD GAMES as indicated by our monthly CALENDAR OF EVENTS.

  3. Video games and movies MUST be approved by the office before the children my play or view them here at the Day Care.

BIRTHDAYS

  1. If your child would like to celebrate his/her birthday at the Day Care Center, we will be glad to help out.  Cupcakes or a cake for the child’s classmates makes for a fun day for all.

  2. Send a camera and we will take pictures for you.

EARN CHILD CARE CREDIT

  1. Credit for TWO WEEKS of Child Care can be earned by bringing new children for us to care for.

  2. STIPULATIONS

    a.  The new child must be in our care for at least six months.

    b.  The new child must be a full time student.

    c.  The CREDIT will be given on the cost of your child’s weekly care (Credit is given for the care of one child only).

    d.  One week of credit will be given upon registration of new child recommended by you and one week credit will be given after the new child has been in our care for six months.

    e.  It is your responsibility to let Grant Road Day Care know that you recommended that child so that we can give you your credit.

STATE LICENSING

  1. GANT ROAD DAY CARE, INC. and KINDERGARTEN is licensed by   the State of Texas and follows all state MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR DAY CARE CENTER AND KINDERGARTENS.  If at anytime you like   to review these standards a copy is available in the office upon request.

LATE PICK UP

  1. If you pick your child up from the Day Care center after 6:30pm there will be Late Pick Up Charge.

  2. After 7:30pm if I have not been able to reach any of the emergency numbers provided to me by you and I have not heard from you, I will assume that the worst has happened and we will call Child Protective Services for help.

DROP IN PROGRAM

  1. Full day 6:30am to 6:30pm with lunch and two snacks. Half day 6:30am to 11:00am with one snack.

  2. You must call a day in advance unless a regular week day is set up in advance.

  3. You must pay for the days care at the beginning of the day.

  4. A child must participate at least once a month to maintain his drop in status at the Day Care Center.

  5. All polices for full time Children also apply to drop in children.
